Welcome to Side Street!

Hi everyone!
I've dedicated this little corner of the web to Side Street, or as some of you may know as "The Coffee Shop". Under each tab you'll find all the hard work and research that I poured into this project, with links to hidden gems along Maine's coast and organizations for those who are in need of guidance and don't quite know where to get it. I update the pages frequently, so check back often! Thanks for stopping by!

Inspiration

The Coffee Shop was inspired by many people. My characters are bits of myself, made real by the memories of my own home life, and of the memories and lives of many others I been fortunate enough to meet and have the honor of being considered a friend. Hamish was inspired by the town of which I was unfortunate enough to waste my life in, but mostly of a real place in itself (and a place I'm sure is not awful one bit) Campobello Island, New Brunswick, Canada.
But "The Coffee Shop" was mainly inspired by what I had assumed would be the usual every day phone call from my mother about a boy named Matthew and the people who helped him all they could. And to those people, including my own mother, I am extremely proud of and encouraged by their efforts. It is their stories and the struggles they faced that inspired me to write about a boy like Matthew, who despite all odds, rose above it all to better his life and about a girl who was fortunate enough to watch him spread his wings.
You might be wondering why I chose to take this direction for a story. This is a romance, I promise you, but a difficult one. So many people's past are much darker than our own, and I am determined to give those women and men, like Caleb and Peyton, the story and love they deserve.
